There's a free fiddle convention at North Arkansas College South Campus.
Jim and Shirley Christensen and Landra Rogers appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday to discuss the convention. The convention will run from March 21 to March 24. Branson's Wayne Massengale will play at 1 p.m. on that Saturday.
The convention began 41 years ago, according to Christensen. She said fiddling is the main thing, but other instruments are present. Kids are welcome to attend.
Jim said there's a room designated for kids. He and Shirley will help out there. Kids will have an opportunity to try playing fiddles.
He also said rooms will host "jam sessions." Rogers jams on the fiddle.
She said she heard about Jim and wanted to try fiddling. Rogers learned from the longtime fiddle teacher and has played for six years.
While the event is free, donations are accepted. More was discussed on the broadcast.
