Lindsey Gabbard talked Friday about Equine Based Therapy Services and an upcoming event.
Gabbard appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" Friday to discuss a Christmas event. It's Dec. 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Copper Rock Barn. Santa will be there with horses dressed as reindeer. Gabbard said a raffle and door prizes are also up for grabs.
This is a free, open house event, but donations from anyone wanting to give are welcomed. Gabbard said volunteers are needed, and that the organization is looking to build sponsorships and eventually Veteran Housing.
They partner with horses to better the lives Veterans and first responders. Speech, occupational and physical therapy are also offered. Gabbard said it's "way more fun to do therapy on a horse." Aside from therapy for Veterans and first responders, they provide horse-riding lessons to anyone.
