District 28 Candidate Said to put Needs Before Wants

Arkansas State Senate District 28 candidate Ted Walker said Monday he never aspired to be a politician.

Walker, who spent 38 years in the military, said he’s running because of encouragement from others in the military and people he works with. “The more time went on, the more it seemed like this is the path,” Walker said. He said one issue he’d like addressed differently involves a status report. He said this and more on KHOZ’s “Around The Table” show.

“You’re elected in by the majority. Well, give a report back to the majority. Once a quarter meet with everybody or have a public sitting to where they can come and meet with folks,” Walker said. Additionally, he said to “change the spending habits from wants to needs.”

He said if inflation is hurting everyone, the first financial cut should come from the leadership. Walker said to take care of needs before wants. “We don’t take a vacation and then try to figure out how we pay the electric bill,” Walker said.

The full interview with Walker is on the “Around The Table” Facebook Page.
