Copeland 2023 Jack Williams Award EMS Recipient

A long-time area First Responder receives recognition for his years of service.

Charles "Chuck" Copeland, known as Chuck, was honored with the esteemed 2023 Jack Williams Award for NARMC EMS in recognition of his remarkable contributions. 

Presently, Chuck holds the vital role of Communications Chief for NARMC EMS, where he oversees the EMS dispatch center and the entire communication system of the organization. His exceptional ability to build and foster relationships has made him an invaluable liaison between EMS and other public service agencies, ensuring seamless and effortless communication between them.
With an impressive 29-year tenure at NARMC, Chuck's diverse experience includes 12 years as an Advanced EMT on the ambulance, 15 years as a Dispatch Supervisor, and 2 years as the Communications Chief.

Chuck has been a lifelong resident of the Ozarks, finding great joy in spending time with his wife Rhonda, three children, and several grandchildren. Over the span of 45 years, Chuck's impact on the communities of Boone, Newton, Searcy, and Marion Counties has been profound, as he has served in various capacities. 

For 43 years, he has been a dedicated rural volunteer firefighter, holding every possible position, including an impressive 20-year tenure as the Fire Chief for Pyatt Rural Fire Department. Moreover, Chuck spent 27 years as a PSAP Telecommunicator for Boone County 911, adding to his 45-plus years of exemplary public service in the aforementioned counties. His commitment extends further as he has also served as a city council member in Pyatt, a constable for Blythe Township in Marion County, and president of the Marion County Fire Chief's Association.

Throughout his life, Chuck has devoted himself to serving his community and its residents in the counties he faithfully served. Despite his years of selfless service, he has always remained humble, exemplifying the true definition of a servant leader. His unwavering integrity, willingness to share his wisdom, and readiness to lend a helping hand wherever needed have made him an invaluable member of NARMC EMS.

Through his unwavering dedication to public service in EMS and Fire, as well as his contributions to the community over the years, Chuck has positively impacted countless lives. Despite his desire to be regarded as one among many, his exceptional qualities make him the perfect recipient of the Jack Williams Award.
