Carroll County Judge Holds Bank in Contempt in Case Involving Solid Waste District

Action has been taken this past week in an on-going civil case.

A Carroll County judge held Bank OZK in contempt of court during a hearing Tuesday for not delivering funds as ordered in June in the civil case against Ozark Mountain Solid Waste District and the Carroll County Tax Collector. The funds in the amount of $433,987.

In June, Carroll County Judge Scott Jackson ruled the Garnishee, Bank OZK, was in possession of funds derived from Ozark Mountain Solid Waste District’s $18.00 charge on real property located in Carroll County and ordered to have Bank OZK deliver the $433,987 plus interested to the Plaintiff.

Judge Jackson added in his ruling in the event the funds were not delivered as ordered, they would be ordered to pay a fine of $500 per day beginning Aug. 16

The lawyer representing Bank OZK filed and appeal Thursday.
