Brown Withdraws from State Representative Race

A full year before the election to select an area state representative, one of the two candidates announcing a run for the seat has withdrawn.

Mountain Home Native Jim Brown, in a statement posted by KTLO, said with the growth of his family business, that he has decided against a run for the District 4 seat that is being vacated by Jack Fortner and the end of his current term in 2024. 

With Brown's withdrawal from the race, Jason Nazarenko of Cotter is the only announced candidate for the seat so far. Nazarenko is the current President of the Cotter-Gasville Chamber of Commerce and Commissioner of the Cotter Planning and Zoning Board.
