Boone County Man Charged after Threats

A Boone County man is facing felony charges of terroristic threatening for threatening to kill his wife in an incident in November 2021.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Harrison Police Department had been made aware that a student had gone into the school counselor’s office to report that his grandfather had threatened to kill his grandmother.

All four children who lived in the home, were interviewed at Grandma’s House Advocacy Center in Harrison, where they told authorities 58-year-old Ricky Gene Waters was always in a bad mood and all he does is “sleep and cuss at everyone.” They also reported Waters had allegedly gotten into an physical altercation with his minor son. After the altercation, it was reported Waters grabbed a baseball bat and hid it in his room. He stated if his son returned, he would “beat his head in.”

Before the interview, one of the minors stated they heard Waters call his grandmother a name, and while walking down the hallway to the kitchen shouted “If I wasn’t so stupid, I would grab a knife and cut you open.”

Waters is also facing charges for terroristic threatening and assault for an incident which occurred in June 2022 when he threatened staff at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center because he was dissatisfied with the doctor not being present during his emergency room visit.

Waters is set to appear in court January 10, 2023 and is order no contact with the victim or witnesses.
