Boone County Man Arrested After Fleeing

A Boone County man has been arrested following a short pursuit in Harrison.

The recap below is courtesy KTLO:

The probable cause affidavit in the case states on Aug. 9, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Highway 7 South with a motorcycle. The vehicle was reportedly leaking raw gasoline and had a loud exhaust. Officials stated they activated the emergency lights approximately 1/8 of a mile north of Doe Run Lane when the operator, identified as 38-year-old Darrell Seaman, continued southbound and failed to yield.

Seaman allegedly passed several safe places to pull over including on Doe Run Lane, Gip Annie Road and an RV park. Seaman then turned onto Crossroad Cemetery Road where he allegedly rapidly increased his speed to approximately 60 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone.

Officials state Seaman then crossed a low water slab at a high rate of speed and almost lost control of the vehicle. Seaman then came to a stop and officials positioned the patrol unit in front of his motorcycle. Seaman complied with officers orders to get off the motorcycle and lay on the ground, where he was then taken into custody without further incident.

Upon running Seaman’s license through dispatch, authorities found he had warrants out for his arrest and was labeled as an absconder. A search of Seamans pockets produced a baggie with a white crystalline substance, identified as methamphetamine.

After a check of the license plate on the motorcycle it was noted the plates were fictitious and last registered in 2020.

Seaman was charged with a felony count of fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended or revoked license, no liability insurance, unsafe vehicle and fictitious vehicle license.

He is free after posting a $5,000 bond.
