Boone County Cooperative Extension Helps With Plants and More

Boone County Cooperative Extension division helps county residents in many ways, according to Cody Salmon.

Salmon, the division's extension agent staff chair, appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Thursday to discuss what the division is and what it does. He said the office provides "resource-based, factual, scientific information." This includes agriculture, natural resources and more.

When comes to identifying plants and dealing with weeds and more, Salmon said that the office is there to help. Soil testing is another service they offer.

If people are having soil issues, this team can assist with diagnosing the problem. Should a circumstance arise where they can't identify a plant, hope is not lost.

While plant pathology is something they do, the University of Arkansas steps in to help when the division can't figure out what a plant should be treated with.

The division is also willing to visit farms and homes to offer their assistance. They are available by phone at 870-741-6168. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Salmon is available on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
