Manager Judy McCutcheon of the Boone County Regional Airport said Tuesday that the airport should receive a grant award within the next three weeks.
McCutcheon spoke on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Tuesday about secured funding for projects. "The contractor said the signs we've got to replace are at least four months out once ordered," McCutcheon said. These signs are for the taxiway and runway.
"There are 42 signs out there, believe it or not," she said. Directional signs showing where the terminal and runway are located will also be replaced. Additionally, the supplemental windsock, main windsock, and beacon are in for updates; the beacon will be equipped with LED lighting. McCutcheon also discussed a box hangar.
She said the new box hangar is expected to arrive in early October, and she said it was ordered over nine months ago.
