Boil Water Notifications in Effect in Marion County

A pair of Water Districts in Marion County have issued Boil Water Notifications.

The first notification confirmed was by the Arkansas Department of Health was Wednesday for  the Flippin Waterworks for the area east of Marion County 7029 and on both the left and right sides of U.S. Highway 62.

This order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of a loss in normal system pressure.

The other was a Boil Order issued for customers of Pyatt Waterworks. The Department of Health says the order was issued as a precautionary measure due to a malfunction with the system’s chlorinator and will remain in effect until further notice.

All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.  All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
This boil order will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected, an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system and a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
