Benefit Set Up for ASP Officer and Wife after Home Destroyed by Fire

A benefit account has been established for an Arkansas state trooper and his wife, after they lost their home in a fire earlier this week.

The home of Tyler and Tisha Pendarvis in Marion County was destroyed by the blaze Tuesday afternoon.

Marion County Sheriff Clinton Evans says the fire was reported at 1:18 Tuesday afternoon on MC 5012 in the Anderson Flat area south of Bruno. Sheriff Evans says Pendarvis reported he had been burning trash and had gone back into the house. The wind apparently blew some embers onto a detached garage. Pendarvis reported when he noticed the fire, the garage was fully engulfed, and the wind spread flames to the house.

Sheriff Evans says the house was a total loss, as was the trooper’s patrol car parked in the garage. Pendarvis, who was the only person at home at the time of the fire, was treated and released at a hospital for smoke inhalation after rescuing pets from the residence.

The “Benefit for Tyler and Tisha Pendarvis Fire Fund” is at First Community Bank of Arkansas, which has locations in Mountain Home and Harrison.

Bruno Fire Chief Bill Pyle says six departments responded through either auto or mutal aid to assist his firemen. The list includes Yellville, Ralph-Caney, Summit, Valley Springs, Western Grove and P.G.S. (Pindall, Gilbert, St. Joe). The seven departments included 27 firemen.

Chief Pyle says firemen were on the scene until after 5 p.m. and utilized 20-25,000 gallons of water. He says they were able to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby residence.
