Arkansas State Police Graduating Class includes Three Officers for Lakes Region

The Arkansas State Police’s largest ever graduating class includes three recruits to serve as troopers for part of the Lakes Region.

Jared Curtis, Cody Lee and Erick Riggs were among 52 honored during the graduation ceremony Thursday at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock.

Curtis and Lee will be assigned to Troop I of the Highway Patrol Division, and Riggs will be in Company E of the Criminal Investigation Division. Both are headquartered on U.S. Highway 65 southeast of Bellefonte. Curtis has been involved in area law enforcement prior to joining the state police as a member of the Harrison Police Department.

The new troopers were among an initial field of 230 applicants tested and interviewed before entering a 10-week training program. They later completed approximately 760 hours of specialized instruction and practical training.

Curtis, Lee and Riggs were sworn under oath as state troopers by Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Cody Hiland, who served as the keynote speaker.
