Arkansas Oncologist Talks Career, More

John Burnside and Radiation Oncologist Arnold Smith from Claude Parrish Cancer Center spoke Wednesday about the center and Smith's career.

The two appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday. Burnside said Smith has worked with the center for about two years. Smith works in Harrison every week. He said working there has "been a great transition to serve the Harrison community.

Smith said it was "the community" that propelled him into moving to Harrison. He had training in St. Louis, Missouri and then some at University of Texas - Galveston before.

"Those communities were excellent, but the size of them was a little bit more industrial, harder to get [the] outdoor accessibility," Smith said. He added that travel to play "ultimate frisbee" took him to Fayetteville, Arkansas. He has lived there for 20 years and commutes to Harrison for work.

The radiation oncologist expressed that he "fell in love with the area" and that he appreciates the locally focused care the center provides.

Smith and Burnside discussed this and more during the broadcast; the full interview is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
