Officials from the City of Harrison and Boone County were among those that attended a Crypto Mining Meeting in Rogers last week.

According to a release from the city, Mayor Jerry Jackson along with Boone County Justice of the Peace Glenn Redding spoke before a joint meeting of the Senate and House Committee on City, County, and Local Affairs. Area Senator Bryan King also spoke at the meeting, urging members to recommend a study on the impacts of the recently passed legislation that deals with regulations and procedures for establishing Crypto Mining Facilities in the state.

While the committee did not vote to support the study, Redding said in the release that State Senator Scott Flippo informed him that he would look to amend the acts at the next regular session.

The complete release can be found on the City of Harrison Website.
