Area Food Pantries Get Food Freezers With Help From Food Bank of NCA

Several area food pantries are getting help in storing frozen food.

The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas announces last week an investment of $90,000 into the organization’s network of partner hunger relief organizations across north central Arkansas. The grants will assist with the purchase of cold storage, including freezers and refrigerators, to ten local food pantries.

Local food pantries include Good Neighbor Food Cupboard in Diamond City; Ozark Christian Ministries in Marshall; and the Yellville Food Closet Association.

Food Bank of North Central Arkansas CEO, Jeff Quick, states “We’re thrilled to be able to assist our partners across the region. Our hope is that these grants will allow local food pantries to focus their expenses on food for their clients, and increase their capacity to receive, store and distribute fresh and frozen foods.”
