Area Fire Chief Receives First Responder Award

The District Fire Chief for the Capps-Batavia Fire Department is among the recipients of a First Responder Award.

According to a post from the department's Facebook Page, Tim Hunter received one of the the American Legion’s “Jack Williams Award” for First Responders in a ceremony last week at the Capps-Batavia Fire Station.

Hunter has served 33 years as a volunteer firefighter. 

The American Legion Allen-McKinney Post 44 of Harrison have honored area first responders that have been noteworthy not only for their careers but involvement in their communities. 

Other award winners announced in August include Trooper Nathaniel Bradley, Arkansas State Police; Sergeant Jacob Mills, Harrison Police Department; Chuck Copeland of the NARMC Emergency Services; Sergeant Cameron Pace, Boone County Sheriff’s Office; and Captain David Thompson, Harrison Fire Department.

The award is named after Jack Williams from Harrison who gave his life in service to his country in World War II.
