Another Round of Storms Roll Through the Region

In what is becoming a regular routine, another round of storms moved through the region Sunday night into this morning bringing heavy rain and severe weather. 

A Tornado Warning was issued late last night for northeastern Taney and northwestern Ozark Counties due to a possible funnel detected on National Weather Service Radar, but no sightings have been reported.

Damage reports to the NWS include several reports of trees and limbs down in the Cassville area of Barry County as well as near Reeds Spring in Stone County, where power poles were reported to be down, and near Forsyth in Taney County where shingles were reported blown off some rooftops. 60 MPH wind gusts or greater were reported in northern Barry County near Pierce City.

While not as widespread as past storms, White River Electric is reporting around 130 outages nearly half in Arkansas in Marion County while scattered outages are also reported in Missouri in Christian, Ozark, and Taney Counties. Entergy is reporting around 50 outages in Harrison and surrounding Boone County as well as in Marion County. Carroll Electric Cooperative is reporting scattered outages in both Carroll and Barry Counties. 

Heavy rain brought several Flash Flood Warnings and Flood Advisories overnight with flooding reported in the Merriam Woods area of Taney County. 

Rain will move out later today and much cooler temperatures will be in the forecast for early in the week with highs in the upper 70’s on Tuesday.
