Sherri Ann Brown Cutbirth

Sherri Ann Brown Cutbirth...

Sherri Ann Brown Cutbirth was born to her parents, Adrian & Glenette Brown on August 20, 1963 and lived in Chestnutridge, MO.

On June 17, 2025 at 4:28 p.m., Sherri was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. She lived a life rooted in faith and devoted to Christ and family.

When Sherri was a young girl growing up she loved standing on the hood of her dad’s car, using that for her stage, and singing to the cows for her audience.  She would feed baby rabbits with her mom, play Dairy Queen, make mud pies and of course TALK.

As she grew, she attended Spokane Schools and graduated from Spokane High School in 1982. She loved those years and the lifelong friends she would make. “The Girls” as Sherri called them, which are Sheila, Karen, Tracy and herself, would meet once a month for lunch. They were lifelong Sunday School friends and she loved them dearly.  She loved hearing their stories of life, sharing grandchildren stories and talking about whatever came to light that day. These were highly treasured moments she looked forward to each month.

After graduating high school, Sherri attended cosmetology school in Springfield, MO. She would ride into school every morning with Fred Bilyeu and Glen Stewart as they went to work. She would jokingly say that they would all open a beauty shop. Fred would be the colorist, Glen a stylist and she would be their boss.  They would all just laugh.

Sherri would find that her true God-given vocation was working with children, especially children with disabilities. She taught in Branson and Kirbyville Schools and fell in love with her children, Brittany and Andrew and their parents. Many times meeting them to help with doctor’s appointments or in the summer at the park or just to help in any way.  She was an example of Christ’s love at work.

On April 11, 1987, Sherri married Kevin Cutbirth.  They made their home on Chestnutridge. They were blessed with two children, Kaitlyn LeAnn Cutbirth Grube and Dustin Clay Cutbirth.

As a mother, Sherri raised her children in the ways of the Lord Jesus teaching them to love, to serve, and to trust Jesus Christ always. Sherri was an honoring, Godly wife, preparing good meals and caring for Kevin.  She leaves behind a legacy of service.

Sherri was saved at a young age and baptized by her paternal grandfather at Bull Creek. She joined New Haven General Baptist Church where she loved serving. Most recently she held the position of Treasurer. She had also worked in VBS, Sunday School, and everything you asked her to do for the church. Most importantly though, she loved Jesus with her whole heart.  She enjoyed sharing the love and warmth of our Savior with as many people as possible. Now…as we all know, Sherri NEVER met a stranger. She would talk to anyone from Alaska to Florida, New York to California.  They would hear about Jesus.

Sherri was  a woman of unwavering faith. This was especially evident over the past 10 months as she would share with everyone that “The Lord has healed me” and “The Lord has my back”.  She would say, “Don’t worry about me, Jesus has got this.” Her faith has been realized today and she was 100% correct in it. She is healed and resting in the Arms of Christ.

Sherri would find peace and joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promise of eternal life for her family and herself.

Sherri is preceded in death by her dad, Adrian Brown; her brother, Allen Clay Brown; and her grandparents, Glen & Della Keltner and Arlie & Ethel Brown.

Sherri is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kevin Cutbirth of Chestnutridge; two children and their spouses, Kaitlyn Grube and her husband Eric of Ozark, MO, Dustin Cutbirth and his wife Linda of Chestnutridge; three grandchildren, Shayne Grube, Lincoln Cutbirth and Dottie Cutbirth plus a child to be delivered to Dustin and Linda in August.  Also surviving is Sherri’s mother, Glenette Brown of Chestnutridge; sister, Glenda Tennis and her husband Jack of Chestnutridge; nephews, Justin Tennis and his wife Mollie, Landon Bilyeu and wife Jaci; one niece, Lindsey Hartley and her husband Tyler; two great-nieces, Cheyanne Tennis and Hadley Hartley;  two great-nephews, Jake Tennis and Whitley Bilyeu; a host of loving cousins, a multitude of kind friends, and a church family that loved her beyond words.

Now that Sherri has stepped into the landscape of Heaven and she rests in the Arms of Jesus, free from any pain or sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty and hearing His precious voice that she is so familiar with saying, “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Sherri, my good and faithful servant, enter in. You have finished well!”

Visitation will be Monday evening, June 23, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at New Haven Baptist Church, 581 State Hwy A, Chestnutridge, MO  65630.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 10:00 am in New Haven Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Schupbach Cemetery.
