Larry A. Spittler, 84.

Larry A. Spittler, 84, entered into rest at his home in Branson with family gathered around him on Sept. 4, 2024.  Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 17, at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Branson.  Father Jay will officiate.  Visitation will be at 9:00 AM, with the service to follow at 10:00 AM. Luncheon will follow the service. The burial will be at 2 PM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.  Military rites will be by the Branson Veterans of America, Chapter 913 and the United States Army.    Services and cremation were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.

Larry Arthur Spittler was born Nov. 20, 1939, St. Louis, Missouri to Weldon and Corinne (Siebel) Spittler. He served his country with the United States Army.  After an honorable discharge, he continued serving veterans by participating in the Honor Guard.  He was very proud of the time he spent in the army.

Larry married the love of his life, LaVerne Lance, on Sept. 2, 1961, in Nashville, Ill.  They had celebrated sixty-three years together this past week. Larry and LaVerne were blessed with three children.

They had lived in St. Louis, Mo., Louisville, Ky., Shawnee Ks., Fremont, Ca., Santa Clarita, Calif., Blue Eye, Mo. and Branson. He was the owner and operator of the Beer & Bottle Shop in Hollister, Mo.  from which he retired.

He was a member of, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson and the American Legion Post, #220 and a long time member of the Branson "Day-Breakers" Rotary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, LaVerne; one daughter Barbara Tenneson (Dave) of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sons Paul Spittler (Irene) of Hollister, Mo.; Patrick Spittler of Cape Fair, Mo.; one sister Shirley Amann of Arnold, Mo.; one brother Neal Spittler (Christy) of Nixa, Mo.; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
