Two people from Marion County are dead, another from Searcy County injured after a traffic crash in Baxter County.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the crash occurred during heavy fog conditions Monday morning when a truck driven by 61-year-old Michael Ragland failed to yield at the intersection of State Highways 5 and 126 and collided with a minivan. The driver and a passenger in the minivan, 39-year-old Jennifer Watlington of Yellville and 40-year-old Sunshine Underhill of Summit, were killed in the collision while Ragland was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home for treatment of his injuries.
399 people have died in traffic crashes worked by the Arkansas State Police in 2023.
