Three Arkansas Ballot Initiatives Await Certification

Supporters of three ballot initiatives now await certification by Arkansas Election Officials to see if they will appear on the November Ballot.

According to an Associated Press Report posted by KTLO, supporters of proposals to expand the state’s medical marijuana program, repeal a casino license, and to scale back the state’s abortion ban, all got the required number of signatures to go onto the ballot. The state now has to certify all of those signatures to make sure the petitions don’t have duplicate signatures or were signed by individuals not eligible to vote in the state.

Among the measures that did not get the required number of signatures for consideration by the July 5th deadline included a measure to strengthen access to public records as well as a proposal that would have any schools that receive public funding to follow the same standards as traditional public schools.

The full report can be found on the KTLO Website.
