The Northwest Arkansas District Fair is Coming

The Northwest Arkansas District Fair is coming, according to its manager Allison Black.

Black appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the fair. This is Black's nineteenth year working the fair. Exhibits can begin checking in Sept. 17. Black said this includes "exhibits one to five."

She added that dairy cows will arrive on Sunday. The carnival will run from Wednesday to Saturday. Black mentioned another exciting part of the fair.

Demolition Derby takes place on Sept. 23. People can obtain a booth in the commercial building. 10 by 10-booths are $30, and 10 by 20 booths are $45. Anyone who rents a booth will have it from Wednesday through Saturday.

Black said there's nothing new this year, but it's Senior Day on Sept. 20. It begins at 10:30 a.m. There's a free lunch in the Country Kitchen. Senior Day was brought back last year.

Admission to the fair is free from Sunday through Wednesday. Admission is $5 for adults starting on Thursday at 5 p.m. The student price for ages six to 18 is $3. Ages five and under have free admission.

The derby is $10 for adults, $5 for students and five and under is free. Black said that derby admission gets guests into the fair. There's no charge for parking.

Earlier, Black mentioned the parade and rodeo which occurs after the week of the fair. More information is online. More was discussed on the broadcast.
