Sanders Signs Legislation After Special Session

Arkansas’s Special Legislative Session wraps-up last week with several new laws being approved and signed by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Among them, a law restricted some travel information for the Governor and her family being released on grounds of security risk and a law that prohibits state and local governments from requiring someone to be vaccinated against COVID-19. That law reinstates a previous measure passed in 2021 that had recently expired.

In other action, Sanders signed legislation cutting the state’s top individual income tax rate from 4.7% to 4.4% and the corporate rate from 5.1% to 4.8%. The legislation also includes some one-time tax credits for people making less than $90,000 per year.
