Pickleball in Harrison

Anyone in Harrison wanting to play pickleball can do so.

Austin Smith from the Harrison Parks and Recreation Department appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to discuss pickeball and more.

The sport is accessible to any age. Smith said a man as old as 81 is playing the sport in the local venue.

Smith explained that the sport is "human-size ping-pong" that uses a paddle and a ball the size of a wiffle ball. The department has four courts on which pickleball can unfold. Their also four courts used for the game on the tennis court. The new Creekside Community Center will have two courts inside.

The court on which the game is played is normally smaller than a tennis court. Anyone wanting more information can reach out to the Parks and Recreation Department at 870 741-2346. More was discussed during the broadcast.

The full interview with Smith is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
