Military Service Sisters provides a space for women who served in the military to connect with others who relate.
Lauri Rottmayer is with the Military Service Sisters and Holly Scoma is with the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, and she's the Arkansas Women Veterans Coordinator. The two appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday to discuss Military Service Sisters.
Launching the Military Service Sisters in the area, Rottmayer explained, has been in the works for over a year. It's a group that promotes fun and sisterhood among women from every military branch. "I love it [because] it's loud and [there's] laughter," Rottmayer said.
There are other groups like it. Scoma said there are seven of them total. Mountain Home is where the first one is located, but the groups are spread around Arkansas.
A new group started in Fayetteville last week. Scoma said Harrison group is receiving attention with the goal of growth.
Rottmayer served in Marines, and Scoma served in the Air Force. Scoma is available to provide more information at 870-404-6944. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Rottmayer and Scoma is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
