Marion County Man Faces Multiple Theft Charges

A Marion County man faces several theft charges after authorities locate multiple items reported stolen from local boat docks.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a report of several thefts on or around the Bull Shoals Boat Dock over the course of a few months. The complainant provided a folder of theft reports including fuel stolen from multiple boat’s fuel tank, totaling over $2,000. In addition, tackle and other items, including broken latches and locks, was reported stolen totaling $6900.

A few weeks later, deputies executed a search warrant for 52-year-old Arnold Ply relating to theft of fuel and tackle from boats from a Boone County marina. During the investigation, deputies located seven generators, several boxes of tackle, fishing rods and reels, terminal tackle and fuel tanks. One generator was tied to the main house electrical box and was being used as a power source for the home.

Ply has been charged with four felony counts of theft of property, three felony counts of breaking and entering, 33 misdemeanor counts of theft of property and two counts of criminal mischief. He has been released from the Marion County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
