Lion’s Club Harrison Projects

Harrison’s Lion’s Club has some projects that are now active.

Dr. Charles Adair with the Harrison Lion's Club appeared on KHOZ’s Around The Table on Monday to talk about the projects. Adair joined the Harrison Lion’s Club in 1975. “This will be about 46 years,” Adair said. He was in the Lion’s Club for a couple of years in Miller, Missouri.

Helen Keller spoke to the organization’s national convention in 1925. “She encouraged us to be knights of the blind,” he said. Adair said they help about 75 people get free exams every year and provide classes for them. They also provide some visual screening to Harrison Schools students. While vision is a focus for them, Adair said there are other projects going on; this week they will put up flags for Veteran’s Day. The club’s meetings are streamed and can be viewed by nonmembers on Facebook. The meetings can also be attended in person by nonmembers. The full interview is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
