Harrison Summer Rec Program is Growing

Harrison Parks & Recreation Director Chuck Eddington said Monday that the summer rec program is averaging about 130 to 140 kids a day.

He said the program could only have about 75 kids when he came in seven years ago. Growth also includes the splash pad; many kids have been able to enjoy the splash pad.

"They get to swim everyday; now they get to go out to the splash pad in the afternoon, so they're getting plenty of water time," Eddington said during KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday. He said that parents can still sign up to get their kids in the program.

"They can sign up anytime. They can do daily, or they can do weekly," he said. The director said that Mayor Jerry Jackson does good letting him keep the costs down so the program can welcome as many kids as possible. Eddington highlighted the program's growth.

Eddington discussed this and more on the broadcast. The full interview with Eddington is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
