Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce has moved to Signature Tower

Starting on January 3rd the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce is now doing business in Suite 301 of Signature Tower.

Chamber President/CEO, Bob Largent, said the move was necessary to provide adequate space for their growing staff and operations. Prior to this move Largent said the chamber had approximately 1,450 square feet of usable space with one staff member limited to an 8’x8’ office with two doors and cabinets overhead. When the chamber’s building was built in the mid 1980’s it was made to provide office space for three people. The chamber’s staff since Largent’s tenure began in 2019 has grown to more than four people.

The Chamber’s conference room that routinely hosts CEO’s and business leaders was also used as a break room. In addition, Largent said no major renovation had been done to their offices in 38 years and they already pay rent to the Harrison Chamber Foundation who bought the chamber building in 1995.

Their new location offers improvements to most of those issues. Their new space totals approximately 3,100 square feet and has been refreshed to suit their needs. They are not responsible for maintenance or utilities of the Durand Center, and they have signed a five-year lease with two five-year extensions. In addition, Largent says they negotiated a deal with Signature Bank, who owns Signature Tower, to invest in the chamber in the form of three months of rent-free operation.

Largent said they are planning a ribbon cutting for their new location later in January.
