Flippo Talks August Special Session

Arkansas Senate Majority Leader Scott Flippo said Thursday that a special session will take place on the week of Aug. 8

Meeting items are still being hammered out, but Flippo said during KHOZ's "Around The Table" that expected items include income tax reduction-related legislation, legislation to provide financial relief to people in the lower and middle income bracket. Also, the senate majority leader said appropriating money for school safety will be considered.

"There's been some conversations on that and some disagreement," Flippo said. He said the legislature has been firm that while their committed to allocating funds for school safety, there needs to be a process and guidelines for how the money can be used. Later, he said his colleagues and he hear their constituents.

"We know that they are struggling."

The full interview with Flippo is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
