With the clocks set to spring forward on Sunday, an area fire agency issues two reminders about Smoke Alarms.
Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday and for years, fire officials have been issuing the reminder about checking the batteries on Smoke Alarms. But according to a video posted by the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, they also recommend checking the age of your smoke alarm. WTFPD Fire Marshall Vincent Robertson says on the video that most fire detectors have a recommended 10-year life span before they need to be replaced.
Clocks will be moved ahead overnight one hour for Daylight Saving Time that will be in place until November 1.
