Dr. Lipton of NARMC Talks new Program

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center's Dr. Vivian Lipton and Kim Rosson talked Thursday about Lipton's joining the hospital and a program that will launch on Feb. 2.

Lipton and Rosson appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" broadcast. Rosson is NARMC's director of marketing and community relations. She said Lipton joined NARMC this past September; she's a family practice and OB doctor. Lipton is starting a new program at the start of 2023; the program is called New Me in 23.

She explained that when she began practicing medicine she was "shocked" to see how many kids "were starting off in life on the heavier side." She is certified in obesity medicine and family medicine. Lipton spoke about the program's goal.

"Our goal is to really get you to where you feel like you can go from the couch to a 5k, and if you don't want a 5k with us, that's okay. We'll get you from the couch to a one-mile walk," Lipton said.

This program is a six-session workshop with information from experts in dietary, behavioral health, physical therapy and other fields. The workshop is free to the public.

Lipton said she came from Texas. She also said she was a midwife for 10 years before going to medical school.

All of this and more was discussed on the broadcast. The full interview with Rosson is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
