Boone County Sheriff Tim Roberson is being replaced by Chief Deputy Roy Martin.
This replacement is a result of recent primary elections. Roberson said Wednesday during KHOZ's "Around The Table" that this is good news for those who like what the department has been doing. He said that he and Martin discussed plans they wanted to move forward with when Martin took the chief deputy position. "We've begun that process over the last two years, and this gives us the opportunity to continue to try to make things better," Roberson said.
Not many changes are expected other than Roberson and Martin trading offices. Roberson will be the chief deputy. On another point, Roberson said that he noticed domestic cases are up a little; he said that is typical this time of year. Theft and burglary are up a little as well.
