The Boone County Fair is next week, according to Kelsey Gregory.
Gregory appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about it. It's for kids who live in Boone. This fair boasts all of the usual animals. There are also baked items, art and more.
The county fair officially kicks off on Sept. 10, but the showings start on Wednesday and go through Friday. Hog and chicken shows are on Wednesday.
Thursday is especially important. In addition to the "bottle calf show," there's an auction. Proceeds from a premium auction will go back to the children who enter the fair.
Gregory also talked about the different categories. There's one specific requirement to show animals.
Children wanting to show animals need to join a "4H" group. Gregory said belonging to such a group or FFA is required. More was discussed on the broadcast.
