Boil Water Orders impacting parts of Searcy and Newton Counties are in effect.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health, a boil order was issued for the West Stone County Water Association which covers part of eastern Searcy County due to a power outage. Areas impacted are Highway 263 between Mozart and Shirley and along Highway 9 to Turkey Creek.
A boil order was issued Monday for the East Newton County Water Association due to a main break. The advisory affects customers for the area of Norton’s Country Store going north on Highway 123 and ending at the Buffalo River.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.
