Arkansas Senator Bryan King Provides Update on Senate Session

Arkansas Senator Bryan King talked Monday about highlights from the start of this new Senate session.

During KHOZ's Monday "Around The Table" broadcast, King said the rule changes he pushed for were rejected. "One is to slow the process down where we know what bills we're reading and what we're voting on," King said. He said one of the bills would have made senators pay tax before they "collect per diem and take trips." The senator described the session as "slow" but noted anticipated items.

"I think everybody is waiting for a couple big things like what education plan is going to happen out there, and what corrections, prison, crime [plan] is going to happen," he said. He also commented on two bills he has pre-filed.

The bills are Senate Bill 7 and Senate Bill 8. Senate Bill 7 is the "Perscription Drug Harm and Homicide bill." He explained that it deals with "drug-induced homicide." King discussed this and more during the show.

The full interview with King is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
