Boone County Regional Airport Manager Judy McCutcheon discussed the recent drone incident and more on Thursday.
"You always hope you won't find that," McCutcheon said during KHOZ's "Around The Table" broadcast while discussing the drone that crashed at the airport. She said it was an educational experience.
She said she thinks a lot of people buy them for kids but don't realize what the drones can do. The airport manager said the airport now has a self-service fueling station. Additionally, a new hanger is coming.
"We have the hanger ordered," she said. But the arrival of the hanger is expected to be in September. McCutcheon also said a federal grant coming in around August will be used to replace signs on the runway and taxiway. More improvements will be made.
