One Person Dies After Fire near Lead Hill

The person who died in a structure fire near Lead Hill on Wednesday has been identified. 

According to a release posted by the Harrison Daily Times, 83-year-old Jerry Taylor died after succumbing to smoke and flames after his trailer home caught fire. A follow-up investigation by firefighters and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office indicates the fire was accidental in nature and was started due to faulty wiring. 

The report goes on to say that the exact cause of death will be determined but foul play is no suspected. 

The fire took place at Taylor’s home on Highway 14 west of Lead Hill around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
