Lead Hill Man Charged in Shooting

An area man is facing a multitude of charges after shooting at a federal building, and then leading police on a high-speed pursuit.

A total of 13 charges have been filed against 23-year-old Jacob William Gentry-Cape of Lead Hill following the incident last weekend in Harrison.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an officer was on patrol at 1:40 Sunday morning when he heard gunshots and then saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer made a traffic stop due to a defective light, but as he walked up to the vehicle, Gentry-Cape took off at a high rate of speed which got up to 95 MPH. Gentry-Cape eventually drove onto a dead-end road where he fled the vehicle and was captured.

Gentry-Cape is facing felony charges of committing a terroristic act, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, criminal mischief and fleeing in a vehicle and several other misdemeanors. His bond is set at $50,000.
