A Harrison man has been sentenced to 84 months in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release on one count of receipt of child pornography.

According to court documents, in April of last year, the Harrison Police Department received a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which reported an unknown person was utilizing an account on the Kik Messenger application to upload media files including child pornography.

An investigation into the IP addresses and the Kik account information revealed the account owner to be 46-year-old Christopher Scott Hafar, of Harrison, Arkansas.

Seventeen images and video recordings had been reported to NCMEC with some of the files using the same name, thus indicating the recordings were sent multiple times.

Including the 17 recordings reported by NCMEC, a total of 162 images or videos were selected out of more than 860 to contain potential child sexual assault material. At least 80 of the images are believed to be of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. There were 144 recordings selected for review which contained clothed children.

Harrison officers arrested Hafar on July 21, 2021, and Hafar later admitted to receiving child pornography using his Kik account through his cellphone.
