Harrison City Council Seeks New Ward Three Representative

The 2022 election came and went without anyone filing to run for Bill Boswell’s seat in ward three of the Harrison City Council.

Boswell didn’t file for reelection and no one else filed to fill the seat by the deadline leaving a vacancy in ward three, position one.

A Facebook post on the City of Harrison’s Facebook page reads, Harrison City Council is currently taking submissions for a council member in Ward 3 for the 2023/2024 term. Please contact the Mayor's Office at 870-741-2777 to submit your name for consideration. Resumes may be emailed to hr@harrisonar.gov.

This will be the second time in two years that the council has appointed a representative for ward three. Reed Petty was appointed to the council in 2021 in ward three, position two after the previous representative resigned the position.

In the 2022 general election voters had no choice but to elect all the current representatives back to their seats as no one filed to oppose any sitting city councilors.

Ward three is made up of the southeast portion of Harrison and is in blue on the city’s ward map which you can see by clicking here. You must be a resident of ward three to be considered for appointment to the council.
