Harrison City Council Approves Ordinances That Puts Sales Tax On Ballot

The voters of Harrison will see a one quarter of one percent Sales Tax on the Ballot again in November.

The Harrison City Council gave final approval Thursday night to the ordinances that will see the tax go before voters again after it failed in a renewal effort in March. The tax, which had been in place to help fund Fire and Police Services for over 20 years, had been renewed several times before the March vote. 

Harrison City Officials had mentioned prior to the first vote and again after the failure of the measure that not having this tax would jeopardize the funding of positions for firefighters and police officers.
