Former Station Owner Honored by Missouri Broadcasters Association

A former owner of what is now the Ozarks Dynacom Radio Stations is now a member of the Missouri Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Charlie Earls began working in radio in 1960 and got into ownership buying KTHS in Berryville in the mid 60's and has owned or co-owned several stations in the region including in Mountain Home and West Plains. Earls was part of the Orr and Earls Broadcasting Company that bought the stations that are now KCAX and KRZK in 1986 and later added what is now KOMC-FM in the mid 90's. In the early 2000's, the company became Earls Family Broadcasting and shortly afterwards, added the stations that are now KHBZ and KHOZ in Harrison and continued ownership until selling the stations in 2018.

Earls along with wife Scottie and son Scott established KBNS-TV/The Vacation Channel in 1989, a company son Scott still runs today. 

Charlie Earls was honored by the Missouri Broadcasters in their annual awards ceremony this past weekend in Branson, inducted along with longtime St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Broadcaster John Rooney. More details can be found the Missouri Broadcasters Association Website.
