Children’s Advocacy Center Hosting new Outreach Event

Grandma’s House has a new event coming up; the event is a glow party and is on Sept. 10 from 10 p.m. to midnight and is $10 at the door.

Kaleigh Evans from the children’s advocacy care center Grandma's House joined KHOZ’s Around The Table on Wednesday to discuss the glow party. Bubbles, invisible ink and blacklight will bring in the glow. Participants will have invisible ink on them. The event will take place at the Minnie Harris Park in Harrison Arkansas. A live DJ will be playing Electronic Dance Music (EDM) at the event. This event caters to high school students.

Evans said the event is being put on to also raise awareness to potential abuse victims that they are there for them. She said that call volume to Grandma’s House was high during the shutdowns of the pandemic. “Grandma’s House is a nonprofit and we are a children’s advocacy care center,” Evans said. They help abuse victims from birth to age 18.

Volunteers are needed for this two-hour event. Those wanting more information can call (870) 391-2224. The full show with Evans is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
