A Boone County man has been arrested following a domestic disturbance which occurred in December 2023.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on Dec. 27, 2023, Boone County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a residence along Quilt Lane in Harrison for a report of an intoxicated male. The caller stated her husband, identified as 58-year-old William Spainhoward, was intoxicated and was attempting to break down the front door. She stated Spainhoward has assaulted her earlier in the day, left the residence and was now trying to re-enter the home. Before arriving on the scene, the victim stated she believed Spainhoward left in his truck but was unsure where he would be going.

Upon arrival, the victim told authorities Spainhoward had called into work and began to drink early in the day and advised he was not supposed to be drinking. When the victim took his beer and hid them to prevent further drinking, Spainhoward became physical, causing bruising on the victim.

The victim stated she went to take a nap, but Spainhoward kept asking where his beer was. She stated at one point she was on her phone when Spainhoward believed she was calling the police. He took the phone away from her and allegedly threatened to kill her. She told authorities it was at this time Spainhoward began to hit her. The victim attempted to leave the residence when Spainhoward grabbed her and threw her down to the ground. She said she was able to convince him to leave and was able to lock the doors before he could get back in. The victim advised she called authorities when Spainhoward showed back up to the home and attempted to break down the door.

Spainhoward was arrested and booked into the Boone County Detention Center on March 15. He faces one felony count of terroristic threatening and one misdemeanor county of domestic battery. He is being held on a $3,000 bond and is ordered to have not contact with the victim.
