Arkansas November Municipal Candidate Sign Up Period Ends on Wednesday

Candidates for municipal offices in Arkansas have until Wednesday to sign up to appear on the November 3 Ballot.

Several candidates have declared for positions in Harrison. According to the latest list posted by the Boone County Clerks Office, current Council Member Mitch Magness is running for Mayor and will be challenged by Jason Watts. Earlier this year, current Mayor Jerry Jackson announced he would not seek another term in office.

The other contested race currently is for the Ward 2 Position 1, which is Magness's current position with Roni Combs and Truman Copeland running for that position.

No other positions in Harrison or other races in Boone County are currently contested according to the information posted on the Boone County Clerk Facebook Page.
