Several months of celebrating the 150 Year of the City of Harrison is underway.
Friday in Downtown Harrison, activities included the reading of the original proclamation as well as actors portraying President George Washington and the founder of town, Colonel Marcus LaRue Harrison linking the 250th Celebration of a American with Harrison's 150th Celebration.
Many businesses and organizations set-up in downtown during the day with the activities wrapping up with the second "Music on the Square" event of the season with a performance by Chris Luneau and the White Buffalo.
Future events will include the Harrison 150 Gala on June 6 followed by the American 250/Harrison 150 Celebration on July 4.
