August is also back to school month which leads to breaks for families needing to buy school suppliess in Arkansas and Missouri.
Both states have tax exempt laws in place so retailers will not charge sales tax on certain items. In Missouri, that time period starts today and runs through Sunday while the sales tax exempt period begins Saturday and goes through the weekend in Arkansas.
In both states, the items are limited to basic clothing along with school supplies and electronic devices commonly used in the classroom.
