Boone County Couple Arrested for Storage Unit Theft & Drugs

Charles Seagraves: Picture from Boone County Jail Roster

Court records show that Charles Eugene Seagraves and Gloria Ford were arrested on October 21, 2022 at 12:30 AM for breaking into a storage unit in Myers Mini Storage on HWY 65, south of Harrison.

According to a probable cause affidavit the two were confronted as they were walking out of the unit by law enforcement who had received several calls of storage unit break-ins at that facility.

The officer asked Seagraves and Ford if they were the owners of the property in the unit. They said they were the owners and were trying to take items out of the unit. Neither suspect could confirm for the officer the number of the unit, which was found to #297 after the officer pulled the door of the unit down. The two were also asked if they had a lock and key with them for the unit but after being given time to search neither could produce the lock that was supposed to be on the unit.

The officer contacted Carrie Myers, owner of the mini storage facility and she confirmed that the unit was not leased by either of the suspects.

A search of the couple’s vehicle turned up several drug paraphernalia items as well as methamphetamine. In addition to this Seagraves also has a past conviction of methamphetamine possession as well as other drug charges from 2017 and 2018. He also has an active misdemeanor warrant out of Newton County.

Ford was booked into the Boone County Jail with a $2,500 bond. Seagraves was arrested and booked with a $5,000 bond as a habitual offender.
